This is a collaborative effort to consolidate the knowledge of mankind. The idea is to provide links to primers which have been written by members of the internet community. Hopefully they will offer fairly complete coverage of a topic or subtopic, and offer theoretical knowlege (why), instructions (how), a checklist, or raw data (what).
It has been said that you don't really know something until you teach it to someone. I propose that when you begin to tackle a new discipline, you solidify your knowlege by taking notes. Then when you have some mastery of the topic, you organize your notes into a form suitable for public consumption. By doing this you will develop a more complete understanding. Keep refining your document as you learn more. Title Your Document "All I Know About your subject".
Of course, if there is already a primer on a topic, you could use it as your starting point. Then you may add your own knowlege to it and resubmit it, or write a new primer with a different approach.
This is different than a Wiki, since each page is maintained by an individual. People can still build on the work of others, but the pages retain the individual character imparted to them by their author.
After your document is presentable, place it on the web. Then send me an email at collaboration@davidlark.net with the following information:
I will then add your document to this menu. You may use my piece on spanish grammar as a template if you wish.
Please note that since we are encouraging others to embellish on your work, by posting it in this manner you may be placing it in the public domain. If this is not your intention, you should place copyright information and terms of use in the body of the document itself.
Of course, if a page goes dead, let me know so I can take the link off.
